How to Add an Event to Your Calendar in 60 Seconds from a Photo

Calendar planning with colorful sticky notes and markers

You just spotted an event flyer on a bulletin board. The concert looks amazing, but you're in a hurry. How do you make sure you don't forget about it?

With Photo2Calendar, you can go from photo to calendar event in under 60 seconds. Here's exactly how to do it.

What You'll Need

Step 1: Open the App and Choose Your Input Method (5 seconds)

Open Photo2Calendar. On the home screen, you'll see the main "Scan Photo" button. Tap it to choose how you want to capture the event:

Alternatively, if the event details are in text form (from an email or message), tap "Paste or type text" and paste them directly.

Step 2: Let AI Extract the Details (5-10 seconds)

After selecting your photo, Photo2Calendar's AI engine (powered by Google Gemini) analyzes the image. You'll see a progress indicator as it:

This typically takes 3-8 seconds depending on the complexity of the flyer.

Step 3: Review and Edit (10-20 seconds)

The app shows you the extracted event details in an editable form. Each field is clearly labeled:

If everything looks correct (it usually does), you can skip editing entirely. If the AI got something slightly wrong — say it read "3pm" as "3am" — just tap the field and fix it.

Step 4: Add to Calendar (3 seconds)

Tap the big "Add to Calendar" button at the bottom. The event is instantly saved to your phone's calendar. You'll see a success screen confirming:

Total time: Under 60 seconds. Usually closer to 15-20 seconds if the AI gets everything right on the first try.

Ready to Try It?

Photo2Calendar is free on Google Play. Your first 5 scans are on us, every day.

Pro Tips for Better Scans

  1. Good lighting — Make sure the flyer is well-lit and not in shadow
  2. Straight angle — Hold your phone parallel to the flyer to avoid perspective distortion
  3. Full frame — Include all the text in the frame. Cropping important details will reduce accuracy
  4. Clear photos — Avoid blurry shots. The AI needs to read the text clearly
  5. Use batch mode — At a conference or community board? Use batch scan to capture multiple flyers at once

What Types of Events Work Best?

Photo2Calendar works with virtually any event format:

What Happens After?

Once the event is in your calendar, you'll get the standard calendar notifications (reminders at the time you've set). The event includes all extracted details — location, description, and any links — so you have everything you need when the day arrives.

If you synced to Google Calendar, the event will appear on all your devices and can be shared with family or colleagues.
